Skate Rentals. Club members pay $5 per session. Non-members pay $10.
Leasing Skates. Club members can lease Zandstra or Roces skates for the season for $50.
Buying Skates. Nordic Skates and speedskates are available to club members at discount prices.
Skate guards, sharpening jigs and sharpening stones are available at similar savings.
Dutch-made Zandstra Short Track skates are available in European sizes 31-46 -- US men's sizes 1 to 13. It's very comfortable, with a plastic boot shell, a removable liner and footbed, and a permanently attached blade. This is an excellent choice for beginning speedskaters who want a versatile pair of skates for indoor ice. $169.
Italian-made Roces Speedracer or Zandstra long track skates are available in European sizes 32-47 -- US men's 2 to 14. Like the indoor skates, they're extremely comfortable, with a plastic boot shell, a removable liner and footbed, and a permanently attached long track blade for skating on lakes, ponds and 400-meter ovals. This model is an excellent choice for beginning and intermediate skaters. $159.
Australian-made Bont Shark boots with Sonic 1000 short track blades are available in European sizes 27-52 -- US kids' 9 to men's 14. This combination is for intermediate to advanced competitive skaters. Boots have kangaroo leather uppers and a heat-moldable fiberglass - carbon fiber base. The blades are bolted onto the boots, so you can interchange short track and long track blades, and you can use the same boots for inline skating in the summer. $299.
