Volunteers Getting Things Done Locally

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

Of the Upper Valley and White Mountains

Covering Towns in Vermont & New Hampshire USA

RSVP mobilizes older volunteers to deliver creative solutions to community needs through meaningful use of their skills and experience in volunteer service to public and private non-profit agencies. The lives of volunteers and those they serve are both enhanced. RSVP serves volunteers 55+; providing assistance with transportation, free supplemental insurance, and matching them with volunteer activities. RSVP of the Upper Valley and White Mountains is sponsored by the private not for profit organization Grafton County Senior Citizens Council, Inc. and is part of the National Senior Service Corps. RSVP's support is free to the volunteers and community organizations we serve. Together we're getting things done!

Celebrate the United Nations International Year of the Volunteer

In 1997, the United Nations General Assembly formally passed a resolution declaring 2001 to be the International Year of the Volunteer. The UN’s aim is to celebrate and advocate volunteerism around the world by applauding the achievements of volunteers. The other aim is to build more government, nonprofit, and private sector partnerships that will engage new volunteers in alleviating local social problems.

In the United States the vision of the International Year of the Volunteer is to recognize our shared tradition of volunteering and to commit to volunteering as a unifying force to build stronger communities. If you are interested in hosting an IYV event, please contact your local RSVP coordinator.
