A very sad event which took place in the midst of the Christmas holiday was the death of Miss Carrie Riecke.

Mrs. and Miss Riecke came to Summerville about three years ago, and built a home near the residence of Mr. Charles Riecke on Linwood Ave., upon property bought from the Pine Forest Inn. They made in the town, and especially in this locality, many warm friends. They were members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Miss Carrie Riecke died at about 11:00 P.M. December 26, after an illness of several months. She is survived by her mother, a sister in Florida and one in Alabama, a brother in New Jersey, and a brother, Mr. Chas. Riecke in Summerville.

The interment took place in Bethany cemetery, Charleston, SC. Summerville sympathizes very deeply with the bereaved mother and other members of the family, and deepy regrets the passing of one, still young, from a life of useful and kind deeds.
