NORTH, RICHARD, Salisbury 1640, one of the first proprietors, freeman 2 June 1641; removed to Salem, there made his will 1649, in which wife Ursula, children Mary, Sarah, who married an Oldham, and Susanna, are mentioned. Mary was wife of Thomas Jones of Gloucester, and died 4 February 1682, as his widow; and Susanna, of George Martin of Salisbury.

NORTH, Richard, husbandman, Salisbury proprietor 1639, freeman June 2, 1641. Wife Ursula; children Mary, (married Thomas Jones,) Sarah, Susanna, (m. George Martin.) (See suit of the latter couple vs. Nathaniel Winsley in Superior Court, Boston.) [Testimony in Norfolk Files, 80.] He died March 1, 1667; will dated January 26, 1648, probated April 14, 1668. Widow Ursula made will May 19, 1668, codicil 24 June, 1669, probated April 11, 1671; bequests to grandchild Mary, wife of Nathaniel Winsley, and her daughter Hephsibah; to Mary, wife of Thomas Jones, and to Susannah, wife of George Martyn.

John Martin, son of George Martin, Senior, died this year, aged forty-three years. He was a Blacksmith and, probably, learned the trade of his father George. His shop and tools were appraised at 55 pounds and his homestead at 80 pounds (English). He had land at Brady Bow, and at the old pines of Goodale's Hill. His stck consisted of two oxen, three cows, two yearlings, two calves, and fifteen sheep. He lived at the West end of town, in the Vicinity of Red Oak. History of Amesbury - p 137
