WILL OF MOSES PEARSON
In the Name of God Amen I Moses Pearson of the State of South Carolina Marlborough County now being in but a low state of health but in sound memory and cawling to mind that all man is appointed to dye do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following in manner and form (to wit) first of all I rcommend my soul into the hands of God that give it in hope of a joyeifull resorection through the marces of Jesus Christ and as to touching and concaring the little world of property which the Lord has blest me with in the world I desire to give and bequeath as follows:
ITEM. first of all I desire that my body be buried decently according to Christian rules and secondly that all my just and lawful debts be justly paid out of my estate.
ITEM. I desire my beloved wife Rachel Pearson to have a comfortable and sufficient mantanance out of my estate during her natural life and live on the lands I now posess during her life, also I leave to my beloved wife a negro woman Hanner and after her death I give and bequeath the said negro woman Hanna to my beloved daughter Rachel Pearson with all increase whether boys or girls.
ITEM. I give and bequeath to my beloved son William H. Pearson a certain tract of land containing eighty two acres which is called the lower end of y big Plantation and all the property he now posess(es).
ITEM. I glve and bequeath to my beloved son Thomas Pearson a tract or parcel of land of eighty two acres being y upper part of y big plantation, the road joining Henry Hodges land and one creature and one negro boy named James.
ITEM. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Peggy Britton one negro girl named Patt one cow and calf, 2 sows and pig.
ITEM. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Polly Pearson a plantation , a tract of land where Chesdey Handly now lives containing lands granted to Wm. Swett, also one negro gairl named Mary.
ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Joshua J. Pearson the tract of land whereon I now live being the lower part or half of a tract of land of three hundred acres granted to Haskin Hewberry , also one hundred acres granted to myself lying on the south east side of the formentioned land between land of the Barron Poellntz , Wm Coxes and said before mentioned land also one negro boy named Jonah.
ITEM. I give and bequeath to m beloved son Lemuel one tract of Land of one hundred and fifty acres more or less being the upper half of said tract before said granted to Hasking Newberry where my old house and orchard stands , also a small parcel of about fifty acres joining the lower corner of said land and Henry Hodges land and a deep hole in the Three Creeks called Lideas Hole including the Three creeks and a small peace over the said creeks called Florys Hill where Daniel Evans keeps school and adjoining land I sold to John* Askew, granted to John Hodges , also one negro boy named Dempsey.
ITEM. All the property of whatever kind I do posses of to be evenly divided between Peggy Britton ,Polly Pearson, Joshua Pearson, and Lemuel Pearson and my youngest daughter, Rachel Pearson. Also , I nominate and appoint my beloved wife , Rachel Pearson and my beloved friend called Thomas Evans and Jesse Vining to be my Executors to this my last Will and Testament revoking all other wills hitherto fore made by me in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this Twenty Sixth day December in the year of our Lord 1799.
